Pembroke CCGT 2MWe natural gas-fired power station is the largest of its kind in the UK and the the largest gas-fired power station in Europe with a capacity of up to 2,160 MW, enough to supply around three million homes.
The Power Station was built on the site of a previously demolished oil-fired Power Station, and consists of five generating units, each rated at around 400 MW. The power station was officially opened on 19 September 2012.
There are five CCGT 400 MW modules, each with a 288 MWe Alstom gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator and steam turbine.
Our contract with William Hare Group was to develop schedules for structural steel and cladding installation on site. Whilst doing so we introduced our progress measurement system, which generated reports issued to Alstom Limited. The project control and reporting procedures we implemented for Hare Group have since been continued within the company.
